Women in Golf Charter

@ SOLGC - 2026 & Beyond

19/03/2026

Council would like to formally recognise and thank Alison Bryant for her commitment and contribution in her role as our Women in Golf Charter Champion for the last 2 years. The Women in Golf Charter, led nationally by The R&A and England Golf, supports clubs in developing a more inclusive culture and creating meaningful opportunities for women and girls within the game. Alison has played an important role in helping Southport Old Links continue its commitment to these principles, promoting engagement, visibility and positive progression within the club. Alison has indicated her intention to step down from the role at the end of the current year. Importantly, she has kindly offered to remain in post through 2026 if required and is willing to support and mentor a successor during a transition period. Council is extremely grateful for both her service to date and her willingness to ensure a smooth handover. Early notice of her decision allows us to undertake structured succession planning and we will now be inviting expressions of interest from members who may wish to take on the role in the future. The position is not gender-specific and Council believes a shadowing arrangement during 2026 would provide an excellent opportunity for a smooth transition. Further details regarding the role and responsibilities will be available in due course and anyone interested in hearing more can get in touch with the Office to find out more and discuss this important and exciting role for the club moving forward.
