Southport Old Links Golf Club's Professional Shop is run in partnership with Southport Golf Academy (SGA). For those that do not know SGA, their background and business is about introducing people of all ages to the game and within their operation are full facilities just 10 minutes down the road from ourselves – a floodlit and covered driving range; indoor performance centre used for coaching, club fitting and course simulation; a distance calibrated short game area, large putting green and handicap qualifying length Academy course.

James Carpenter PGA Professional

Fellow of European Golf Teaching Federation (EGTF) - James, the youngest of our team, but nevertheless a key part of our coaching setup as he has taken a slightly different path towards his coaching abilities.
Originally learning the game as a Junior here at the Academy – taught by Richie – he has studied and completed a degree in Golf Coaching, an Honours Degree in Golf Management and is a qualified EGTF professional.
Ritchie Benyon PGA Professional
Richie has more than 17 year’s experience of working in the Southport & Lancashire area in which time he has introduced many juniors into the game of golf through various programmes and we now use the specialist programme he has written.
Peter Allison
Putting Coaching provided by Peter Allison. Peter ran Yes! Golf (U.K & Europe) LTD for 12 years. Yes! Golf Supplied Yes! C-Groove Putters throughout Europe, also putting coaching to the European & P.G.A Tours.
Peter has worked closely with the 'Late great Harold Swash' putting doctor to the Stars! and the now legendary Philip Kenyon.
